Walk-Off 199X is a turn-based baseball roguelike deckbuilder drenched in neon static. Every game starts at the bottom of the 9th, and you have to walk it off to win. A free demo is coming to Steam on October 19, for Steam Next Fest. That is what this page is for.

    What is the demo?

    A free, playable slice of the game on Steam. It goes live on October 19 and is part of Steam Next Fest, which runs October 19-26. It is also how I find out what is confusing, what is broken, and what is boring while there is still time to fix it. You play it, you tell me what you thought, I make the game better. It is free and it will stay free.

    What will I be playing?

    In the full game, a run takes 30-60 minutes. You manage a roster of pinch hitters out of a 3D manager's office, buy card packs from a mail-order catalogue, and then go to bat in the bottom of the 9th, playing cards to bend the odds of every pitch. Win seven games in a row and you take the World Series. There is more detail on the main page and a full breakdown of the terminology in the glossary.
